The Le Cirque is the natural evolution of a more geometric centered Optic Circle from Jack Storms early days in the studio. This form allows the contrast of the core with the corona of the exterior but also allows the eye to be pulled and pushed around the corona exterior. Like all of his works there is a tug of war with visual tension that draws in your attention.
Each one of Jack Storms sculptures starts at the core, the artist cuts, grinds, polishes and laminates together the glass literally hundreds of times until he can get the core design he is looking for. He then, will encase the core into optical crystal and hand sculpts the piece to shape. Jack is known by using the theory of Fibonacci as reference for all of his glass designs. Each one of his designs takes from six to twenty four weeks to create and all of his pieces are originals pieces of fine art. All of Jack Storms glass sculptures are done cold. There is not heat involved in the process whatsoever. The materials used on each one of Jack Storms’ glass sculptures are 32% optical lead crystal, optical crystal and dichroic glass.
